"My husband and I were recently retired and left with an active 20-month old granddaughter. We felt OK as grandparents but when we had to take on the role as parents, we felt inadequate. We struggled with the idea of adoption or guardianship; of getting medical permission. We also feared for her future. We felt anxiety in our every decision. I began looking for a support group or even counseling. When someone gave me your brochure, I thought this was a new concept but we could try it. I was amazed from the very first day. Even the very young children were participating in the routine of the activities and their social skills were admirable. My granddaughter needs this and now, we are learning how to teach her these skills. I'm impressed by the structure of the activities, the variety of teaching materials, inclusion of music and Hawaiian language and the ALOHA of all the teaching team…We do feel very supportive in our effort to do the best for our granddaughter. We have hope that our granddaughter will have a good future."
