East Hawai‘i visits JAMS Victory Garden

East Hawai‘i visited Uncle James and Aunty Beth at JAMS Victory Garden in Wainaku on April 30th and May 1st, 2008. Both our Keaau and Pahoa sites spent a special day learning about natural recycling and how to mālama farm animals. Uncle James showed our keiki how he recycles plants, compost and animal manure on the farm. He even let the keiki feed ALL of his animals. Keiki had so much fun feeding the horse, cows, goats, chickens and bunnies! This huaka‘i is a really physical one, lots of walking… But families always say it’s our BEST field trip! Hands on to da’ max!
